The EU project “Renewables in a Stable Electric Grid” as part of the Horizon 2020 program focuses on the exploration of new energy system concepts for suppliers which enable the 100% penetration of renewable energies.
With its platform for active distribution management, Gridhound provides an innovative approach to the automation and stabilization of the grid. Distribution network operators are supported in integrating the growing renewable energy sources into their system without risking grid stability.
In practice, the scenarios provided by energy supplies form the basis for implementing a multi-stage control of the energy system. Field tests are carried out by energy suppliers in Romania and Ireland.
Other German participants in the project besides the Gridhound UG are Ericsson GmbH as project management, the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen as technical management and the flexible electrical networks FEN GmbH.
